- Ginger- It helps to build immunity, increases absorption of nutrients, reduces inflammation and congestion of the chest.
- Turmeric- This herb is packed with many amazing health benefits like reducing inflammation, relieves asthma, cancer, cold and diabetes.
- Giloy– It efficiently eliminates toxins from the body and clears the skin.
- Tulsi– In India Tulsi has been used since ages to treat various health ailments like cold, cough sore throat, skin ailments, ultimately boosts immunity.
Always try to eat more and more seasonal fruits and vegetables, which are high in “Prana” (Vital energy). Eating seasonal things contends the body as nature always produce the things which are more appropriate for the body at that point of time. Avoid processed and packaged foods and include more fresh things in the diet. As fresher fruits and vegetables are full of Prana and things which have longer shelf life have less Prana.

Choose foods that are easy to digest like fresh fruits, vegetable, legumes, and light dairy products. As it will build and boost your Ojas. Processed food is harder to digest and no longer contain intelligence of nature. Foods grown organically are best as they are free from chemicals which are harsh to the body and also contains more amount of minerals. Proteins obtained from vegetarian source helps to build immunity and Ojas. Avoid the intake of meat and non-vegetarian source of protein as they are difficult to digest and also creates Ama (Toxin).
Cook food with immune boosting spices mentioned above. These herbs boost the immunity and converts directly into the Ojas also helps in proper digestion and assimilation of the food taken. Also include vegetables like cabbage, broccoli, and cauliflower in food as they are rich in antioxidants and also consist of flavonoids and immune boosting agents.
Drink milk after boiling and add some powder of cardamom in it for making it easy to digest. Also, remember to drink it alone and not with meals in order to prevent indigestion.
Cook food before eating but do not overcook it as overcooking destroys the nutrients and immune enhancing substances. Food should not be mushy but only easy to chew.
Have your meals at the proper time as eating improperly makes the body prone to indigestion and diseases related to bad digestion. Keep a proper gap between the three meals and avoid munching and snacking in between as it causes indigestion.
Eat in the proper amount, not too less or not too much. Eat according to your body type. Do not eat until you are full as it creates indigestion. Also, do not eat very less as it may weaken you and your immune system.
Avoid intake of salads in Vata season (Winter), as raw salads increase the dryness, coldness, and lightness which /are/ (is) the qualities of Vata. During winter season or Vata season grounding, warming and nourishing diet is required.
