CKD(chronic kidney disease) is a chronic condition of the kidney in which its function is damaged due to which kidneys are not able to perform its duty of filtering wastes and excess fluids from the blood. When reaches the advanced stage the fluid, electrolytes, and waste gets accumulated in the body to a dangerous level resulting in symptoms like–Vomiting, Loss of appetite, Nausea, Sleep problems, Fatigue and weakness, Changes in how much you urinate, Decreased mental sharpness, Muscle twitches, and cramps, Swelling of feet and ankles, and Persistent itching, .Chest pain, if fluid builds up around the lining of the heart and Shortness of breath if fluid builds up in the lungs. High blood pressure (hypertension) that’s difficult to control is also a sign of CKD. To overcome the complications of this kidney disease one should have control of the causes that are responsible for it like Diabetes, High blood pressure, Glomerulonephritis, and few more. Along with the causes, one should keep a check on the risk factors which increases the chances of developing this condition, like-Diabetes, High blood pressure, Heart and blood vessel (cardiovascular) disease, Smoking, Obesity, Abnormal kidney structure, and Older age.
There are natural ways which help to reverse the condition and overcome the complications which can be the result of kidney damage. Our lifestyle and dietary habits are responsible poor functioning or no functioning of kidney. Let us discuss the ways which can help to reverse the CKD.
Eat healthier foods
Our eating habits matters a lot. What we eat results in benefit or loss of our body health. Therefore it important to always have a healthy and balanced diet avoiding junk and packed food. The diet should include these vegetables- Ridge guard, Pumpkin, Bottle gourd, Round gourd, Radish, Carrot, Cabbage, Bell Pepper, Lettuce, Capsicum, Turnip, Ginger, Peas(Boil before use), Green leafy vegetables rich in fiber, vitamins, phytochemicals, and antioxidants. Green gram (Moong dal/ dhuli moong dal) 50 to 80 grams/day, lentil dal, pink lentil (Masoor ki daal) these pulses can be taken but in less quantity. The spices and oil which are healthy-Fenugreek/Methi, Coriander, Bay Leaves, Mint, Black Pepper, Cardamom, Sunflower Oil, and Olive Oil. The healthy fruits are-Apple Pears, and Papaya.
Limit salt and caffeine
Intake of caffeine and salt are not at all healthy for kidney patient because it increases the complications. One should take salt in limit because it becomes the cause of high blood pressure which is the reason for CKD. Too much of salt can also cause other complications also.
Is important for everyone but the CKD patients should do the exercise as guided. When one exercises the body flushes out the toxins and burns unwanted fat. When one workout, body releases chemicals which boosts the moods and eases the pain that one is going through. It lower downs the blood pressure decreases the stress level, controls diabetes, and burns fat.
Our food has three things- Protein, fat, and carbohydrate. In CKD there are many cases in which people complain about protein leakage. Therefore the quantity of protein intake should be balanced. The quantity of protein should be 0.6-0.75 grams per day depending on per kilogram of body weight.
Kidney patient should limit the intake of phosphorus because due to the weak health or the damaged stage of kidneys won’t be able to remove or flush out the phosphorus from the blood.
Due to CKD problem our kidneys is not able to function properly and filter the potassium and it will remain in the blood which can result in more complications. Therefore it is advised for CKD patients to limit the intake of potassium.

Let’s discuss Ginger Therapy which can heal the kidneys naturally
Ginger is the herb loaded with the properties which are beneficial in many cases like –digestion, motion sickness, and kidney disorder. Ginger therapy is counted to be very helpful and beneficial for kidney failure or the patients who are on dialysis. The therapy includes steps and has to be followed accordingly-
- 125gm of washed ginger has to be cut into piece and grinded.
- Put the crushed or ground ginger in a white cloth and tie it.
- 3 liters of water to be boiled and when the process of boiling is at peak put the tied white cloth with ginger in boiling water. The hot pot should be covered at low flame for 20-30 mins.
- The pot should be left in the same way for 5 mins without flame.
- Before starting the therapy patient should be lying down on the stomach exposing the back
- Let’s start the therapy-
- Soak the towel in the water in which we have boiled the ginger. Squeeze the towel partially and spread it on the lower back of the patient.
- The towel has to be on the back of the patient until it is hot.
- After cold in the other vessel repeat it again- dip in hot ginger water partially squeeze and place on the back of the patient.
- It should be repeated till the ginger water is and every time covers the pot to maintain its hotness.
- When the hot towel massage is done a wipe and dry the back and rub the massaged area with 4-5 drops of sesame oil.
This therapy helps in easing the inflammation, and relaxes the body.
